Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City North has submitted an application seeking permission to DMP commissioner to hold a demonstration at north gate of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque at 3:00pm on February 11.
A delegation of six members led by advocate Mainudddin, member of Mojlish-e-Shura and president of legal division of Jamaat Dhaka City North, submits the application to DMP commissioner’s office at 10:30 am Thursday.
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City North will hold a demonstration protesting the addition of anti-Islamic topics in the National Curriculum, denigration of Islam, denigration of Muslim rulers, denigration of fundamentals of Islam, the increased electricity prices and demanding the election under caretaker government. It is said in the application.
The permission and cooperation have been sought to hold the demonstration from Baitul Mukarram North Gate to Moghbazar cross-roads. They will hold the demonstration from 3:00pm to 6:00pm.
After the submission of the application to DMP office, advocate Mainuddin briefed, “We have submitted an application seeking permission to DMP commissioner to hold a demonstration from Baitul Mukarram North Gate to Moghbazar cross-roads from 3:00pm to 6:00pm on February 11. Our application has been accepted and a copy of the application has been given to us from DMP office.”
“We are loyal to laws. We think police are impartial law enforcement force. They will permit us to hold the demonstration. They will help and cooperate us. Holding demonstration is a constitutional right,” he also added.
Advocate Shajada Shakil, barrister Tariqul Islam, advocate Abdul Khalek, advocate Ismail Hossain, advocate Joynal Abedin and advocate Giasuddin Khan were in the delegation.
Jamaat sent the same application to DMP email on February 8. Today a representative of DMP commissioner has accepted the application from Jamaat delegation.
