Selina Akter, thana working committee member of women department and wife of Rashedul Islam – Hatirjheel thana west secretary of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City North, passed away at 10:45pm on last February 25 at ad-Din Medical College Hospital in Moghbazar in the capital on undergoing treatment. Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Raziun. She was 32. She was suffering from physical complication during pregnancy. She left husband, a son, parents, father-in-law and mother-in law, numerous relatives and other many well-wishers.
Her Namaat-e-Janaja was held at 10:30 am at Bakchar village of Sribardi upazilla of Sherpur district. Then she was buried at their family graveyard. Rashedul Islam, the deceased’s husband, led the Janaja. Maulana Andur Rahman, member of working committee of Jamaat Sherpur district, Sribardi upazila Ameer Azaharul Islam, secretary Maulana Rezaul Karim, thana BNP former president and former municipal mayor Abdul Hakim, Shibbir district president Hafeez al-Amin, thana Jamaat-Shibbir leaders and activists, relatives, local prominent persons, Jamaat Hatirjheel Thana West working committee member Kolimullah, Shamim Hossain and others were also president in the Namaj-e-Janaja.
A message of condolence
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City North Ameer and member of central executive council Mohammad Selim Uddin and secretary Dr. Muhammad Rezaul Karim expressed a message deep condolence over the death of Selina Akter.
“Selina Akter (Late) was a front-line woman leader for the Islamic movement in Bangladesh. She dreamt to establish a welfare state on the basis of Islamic ideals to her death. The women’s movement lost an associate in her death,” Jamaat leaders said these in a message of condolence.
They prayed to the court of Allah (SW) for her mercy and highest Jannat. They conveyed a deep sympathy to the family members of the deceased.
