Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City North Ameer and member of central executive council Mohammad Selim Uddin strongly condemned the arrest of 10 leaders and activists from the peaceful demonstration – rally and different houses. He demanded the immediate release and withdrawal of false, fake and fabricated cases against them. Jamaat Dhaka City North held a peaceful demonstration – rally protesting the burning of The Holy Quran by some extremists at Stockholm in Sweden and demanding the cancellation of anti-Islam and atheism chapters from the textbooks on January 24.
Jamaat is an idealist, democratic, constitutional and pro-people political party. Jamaat has not been involved in any types of crimes against state, against laws since its establishment. It is a matter of sorrow that police attacked the peaceful demonstration without provocation and arrested a total of 10 activists from the demonstration – rally and different houses. According to Different media including The Dhaka Post and The Bangla News 24, police filed cases mentioning 40 leaders and activists and 400 were unidentified. Jamaat leaders and activists have no involvement in this incident. This allegation is totally baseless, false and fabricated.
He urged the DMP police to perform their duties impartially and according to law and order.
