Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City North secretary and member of central working committee Dr. Muhammad Rezaul Karim visited Delware Hossain, a member of Bangladesh Islami Chhatrashibir, who was seriously injured by the indiscriminate firing by police at Noakhali mass procession on last 24 December. Delware Hossain is now under treatment at an hospital in the capital. He inquired about the medical progress and health of injured Delware. He spent some time with Delware and spoke to the doctors, relatives and visitors present and assured all possible cooperation from the side of Jamaat Dhaka City North for proper treatment of injured Delware. He also prayed to Almighty Allah for the speedy recovery of the injured. Jamaat leader Hussain Bin Masud and Mehdi Hasan were present along with Jamaat Dhaka City North secretary.
“Being feared in mass movement, the government has increased torture and persecution on the opponents. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has been arrested after the announcement of simultaneous movement. He has been tortured by taking police remands. But history says, no fascist and autocratic force could perpetuate power by oppressing torture and persecution in the past; and Awami League won’t be either,” he added.
He demanded immediate and unconditional release of Jamaat Ameer and other political leaders to government.
“As the tyranny of the government increases, the brave masses are spontaneously taking to the streets. As a result, they are now afraid of losing power. The government has come to realize that they have no ground under their feet. They have started opening fires on mass people to suppress democratic movement. They shot at Delware to suppress mass movement,” he further added.
“The government has started making conspiracies to bypass the mass demand of caretaker government. They are creating anarchy to prolong their illegal power. They are not giving importance to the speech of foreign diplomats and development parterres. The country is now going to be friendless,” he again added.
He urged the government to immediately resign and to hand over power to caretaker government.
