Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City North held a demonstration and rally protesting the remand and fake cases and also demanding the immediate and unconditional release of Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman.
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City North assistant secretary and member and central Mojlish-e-Shura Mahfuzur Rahman led the demonstration. The demonstration was started from Kazipara of Mirpur. The demonstration went around important roads and ended with a protest rally at Sheora Para.
Ziaul Hasan, member of central Mojlish-e-Shura and member of working committee of Jamaat Dhaka City North, working committee member Nasir Uddin, Shahidullah, Dr. Mainuddin, BICS president of Dhaka City West Abdullah-al- Mamun and others were also present in the demonstration.
On the other hand, Dr. Fakharuddin Manik, assistant secretary of Jamaat Dhaka City North and member of central Mojlish-e-Shura, led a demonstration at Rampura in the capital. The demonstration was started from Abul Hotel and ended with a short rally at Rampura Bazar.
“Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman was tortured through police remand. He was arrested by a false and fake case. He is a politician of clean image. It is a clear human rights violation. We strongly condemn this,” Mahfuzur Rahman added.
He demanded the immediate and unconditional release of Jamaat Ameer.
“This government is afraid of the Jamaat’s announcement to launch a simultaneous movement for the realization of 10-point demands and is arresting and remanding the Jamaat-Shibir leaders and activists across the country and torturing them,” he further added.
“Jamaat do not afraid of torture and persecution. Jamaat are playing an important role to establish people’s voting rights. Their movement is for people’s rights. They will oust the illegal Awami government,” Fakharuddin Manik added.
Jamaat Dhaka City North working committee member Ataur Rahaman Sarker, Shura member Kutub Uddin, Abu Akash, Zillur Rahman, Yousuf Ali Mollah, BICS Dhaka City North president Zakir Hossain and others were also president in the demonstration.
They urged the countrymen to play a significant role to join 10-point demands human emancipation movement.
