Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City North secretary and member of central working committee Dr. Muhamad Rezaul Karim commented on that fearing mass protest and strong movement the government had arrested Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman completely unjustly to create panic among common people.

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City North arranged the protest demonstration. The protest demonstration was started from the Mirpur-10 round area. The protesters moved various important roads of the city. It was ended at Shewrapara after a short rally. Lashkar Muhammad Taslim, assistant secretary of Jamaat Dhaka City North and member of central Mojlish-e-Shura, Mahfujur Rahman, Nazim Uddin Mollah, Dr. Fakharuddin Manik, Ziaul Hasan, member of working committee of Jamaat Dhaka City North, Jamal Uddin, Ataur Rahman Sarker, member of Mojlish-e-Shura of Jamaat Dhaka City North, Nasir Uddin, Abdullah-al-Mamun, president of BICS Dhaka City West, Zakir Hossain, president of BICS Dhaka City North, BICS University president Humayan Kabir and others were also president in the protest demonstration.
“Due to misrule- bad governance, oppression-torture, corruption-looting, money laundering, human rights violators, destruction of democracy and democratic values, detached from people, the night votes elected government is waiting for punishment. People have started reducing support to government. But the ministers of the illegal government are making panic among people saying ‘playing games with people’. The government is realizing that they will not be able to survive with people for a single moment. They started oppression and torture by using state organs. Jamaat Ameer has been arrested fully unlawfully and unconstitutionally. But no fascist and Nazi power did not survive in the past by oppression and torture and never will be,” he added.
He strongly condemned and protested the arrest of Jamaat Ameer. City secretary demanded the immediate and unconditional release of Dr Shafiqur Rahman, Allama Delwar Hossain Saydee, ATM Azharul Islam, Nayeeb-e-Ameer Maulana ANM Shamsul Islam, Secretary General Professor Mia Golam Parwar, assistant secetary general Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan including BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and all other political leaders and activists. Otherwise, a dire signal awaits for the government.
“The government chose depoliticization from the start to prolong its illegitimate power. They filed thousands of false, baseless and purposeful cases against opposition party leaders, including the Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case against former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia and so-called war crimes case against Jamaat top leaders to give a stronger base to the conspiracy. They have already killed the top Jamaat leaders brutally by the name of so-called war crimes. They have sentenced Khaleda Zia in a planned way. But the conscious people tried to rise their voices against this fascist government. As a result, the position of the government has been worsening,” he further added.
He demanded the resignation of illegal government.
He called for all in respective party and opinion to come to the streets to join simultaneous movement and to demand a free, fair, participatory and credible election under the caretaker government.
“Government has totally failed to lead the state. They have few supporters now. This Nazi and undemocratic regime is now often friendless internationally. In such a situation, they chose the path of violence and torture to bypass the public demands of the caretaker government during the elections, which is the protector of free, fair and acceptable elections for the sake of the constitution. They want to go through the electoral process again with 2014 and 2018 farce elections style. But their dreams will never be succeeded,” Dr Rezaul Karim again added.
He further urged the government to resign to hold a free, fair, inclusive and credible election under the caretaker government.
8 pedestrians are held after the procession.
