Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City North Ameer and member of central executive council Mohammad Selim Uddin said, “The more advanced the nation is, the more advanced and upgraded the education system of the nation is. Education system must be promoted to global standards to face the challenges of 21st century. Jamaat is working to ensure the standards of education as a pro-people and welfare political organization. This stipend and the distribution of education materials to under privileged students are the continuation of regular activities.”
He urged the government, the wealthy people of the society, NGOs, donor agencies and different political organizations to come forward to ensure the quality of education.
He today said these as the chief guest while distributing education materials to 50 brilliant students and 400 under privileged students at an auditorium of the capital. Hatirjheel thana west of Jamaat Dhaka City North arranged the program.
Ataur Rahman Sarkar, thana Ameer and member of Mojlish-e-Shura of Jamaat Dhaka City North, presided over the program. Thana secretary Yousuf Ali Mollah conducted it. Abu Tanjeel, thana health and relief affairs secretary, social welfare secretary Kolimullah, education secretary Abu Sayeed Mondol, finance secretary Abdus Sattar, BISS Hatirjheel thana president Nazim Uddin and others were also present in the program.
“The major part of career is ethics and morality. Moral people are required to make a moral nation. You should prepare yourselves as worthy, Allah-fearing and moral persons. Students of today will lead the nation tomorrow. That is why we have to prepare ourselves for all the challenges of modern civilization. Otherwise, the nation cannot be saved from infertility,” City Ameer added.
“Awami League government are dividing the nation instead of unity. They are establishing a reign of terror in the campuses through their students’ body Chhatra League, on the other hand, they have reached the extreme limits of occupation and have occupied various universities, schools and colleges and pushed the future of thousands of students into uncertainty. They have recently occupied the North South University, the International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC), the Manarat International University and the Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology. They have formed the illegal trusty board and are looting the properties of these universities. They have occupied hundreds of educational institutions including Monipur School, Al-ameen Academy, Chandpur and Masjid Mission Academy, Rajshahi. These are not only injustice but also a part of conspiracy of destroying the education system,” he added.
He urged the Awami League government to leave these institutions immediately and also to handover these the actual owners.
Salim Uddin also inaugurated the program of cash, books and educational materials distribution among the students.
