Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City North Ameer and member of central executive council Mohammad Selim Uddin said, “The recent clash between two groups of Eden College’s Chhatra League based on their illegal influence-prestige, extortion, admission and seat trading, forcing students to do immoral work, torture and beating of female students and crimes against humanity have shocked the entire nation. These are the old habits of BCLmen. Jahangirnagar University BCLman Jasim Uddin Manik celebrated the rape century festival in the past. All should be united regardless of party affiliation to stop the negative activities of evil forces.”

“What the Chhatra League men are doing in the educational institutions of the country in the name of so-called student politics is not politics but regular misogyny. What is being done at Eden College to trade seats and get immoral benefits is not student politics at all but a criminal offence. However, the government have called such unjust actions as student politics and brought the entire education system to the brink of destruction. Basically, the government are giving all kinds of support to these evil forces to maintain their illegal power. But no anti-people, autocratic and undemocratic forces have been saved by doing these in the past, and never will be,” he added.
He urged the government to avoid bad politics and to come back in positive politics immediately. Otherwise, history will not forgive them.
“Chhatra League has created an anarchic situation in all educational institutions of the country. Eden College girls are being used to entertain party leaders. As a result, people’s intense hatred towards the government has been created. They have used Chhatra League for all immoral activities including extortion, terrorist activities, corruption and are using them as a means to stay in power. The government are patronizing them instead of taking actions. The ruling government cannot avoid the responsibility of illegal activities of Chhatra League all over the country including Eden College,” he also added.
“The government has been unable to run the state. They have broken the chain of national economy by laundering millions of taka. People do not want to see this failed and looting government in power even for a single moment. There is no alternative but starting the movement to overthrow the government. Simultaneous program should be announced by forming a liajo committee immediately. Jamaat has started it programs and they will not return home until the tyrannical government has been overthrown,” he further added.
He urged all to join the one point movement of overthrow government.
“The government has destroyed democracy and democratic values to prolong their illegal power. The constitution institution election commission has been appointed by partisans. This commission wants Awami League in power back. But the conscious people will never let the dreams of the government come true,” he again added.
He urged the government to immediately hold a free, fair, inclusive and acceptable election under the caretaker government to check public opinions. Otherwise, they have to resign from power with disgrace.
