Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City North Ameer and member of central executive council Mohammad Selim Uddin said, “A huge part of the total population of our country is unemployed and poor. They are deprived of basic human rights. If we want to make the nation self-reliant and prosperous, there is no alternative but making them employ. This huge unemployed population is not our burden rather, can be the tool of human resource. Jamaat-e-Islami with the great purpose has been working to create the field of employment for the underprivileged people since its establishment. Today’s effort is just the continuation of that.”
He on Sunday said these as the chief guest while providing financial assistance to the underprivileged people with a view to creating the field of self-employment. Darussalam thana of Jamaat Dhaka City North arranged the program. He provided hand cash among some males and females in order to make the field of self-employment. Thana Ameer and member of working committee of Jamaat Dhaka City North Mustafizur Rahman presided over the program. Thana secretary Habibullah Rumi conducted it. Alauddin Khan Master, renowned businessmen, was the special guest in the program. Zakaria Hossain, Saidur Rahaman Tarek, Abdus Salam, Advocate Nazrul Islam and other leaders were also present in the program.
“Jamaat is not any power centered, high ambitious and conventional political party. They have been working for the sake of humanity since its establishment,” he added. “We have been working for creating employment, for poverty alleviation, for the quality of education, for creating moral values among people, and for earthly and spiritual development since its establishment. We are also committed to build up a prosperous nation and to establish a society based on justice. If we want to move the country and the nation forward, we all have to be united under the banner of Jamaat,” he also added.
He urged all to work together to turn the country into a welfare state. Then he quoted a Hadith from Sunan at-Tirmidhi. Here the Prophet (saw) said, “If we do not have mercy on the people of the world, then Allah Almighty will not have mercy on us.”
“We will continue our welfare activities for the sake of humanity in the next In-Sha-Allah,” he again added.
