Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City North Ameer and member of central executive council Mohammad Selim Uddin said, “Eid is the bridge of unity and solidarity of Muslim ummah. But due to disunity, self-conflict and discord, Eid is not becoming the symbol of peace, harmony, prosperity, development and progress for the Muslim world. There is no alternative but the greater unity and solidarity to make the Eid meaningful.” He urged all to bring back the glory of Muslims.
He on Wednesday said these as the chief guest while addressing at an Eid reunion program in the capital. Hatirjeel thana west of Jamaat Dhaka City North arranged the program.
Thana Ameer Muhammad Ataur Rahman Sarkar presided over the program. Thana secretary Yousuf Ali Mollah conducted it. Hemayet Hossain, member of working committee of Jamaat Dhaka City North, was the special guest. Thana Health Affairs Secretary Abu Tanzil, Social Welfare Secretary Kalim Ullah, Publication Secretary Aktar Hossain, Training Secretary Golam Maula, Finance Secretary Abdus Sattar, Law Secretary Abu Sayeed and others were also present in the program.
“The actual teachings of Eid-al -Adha is to gain victory over animal instincts by imposing control over worldly greed and desire. The goal of the holy Eid-al-Adha is to achieve the true welfare of mankind by stopping injustice, untruth, lawlessness, evil, violence, hatred, oppression, torture by establishing overall peace in the society and the state,” he added.
“There is no alternative for a free, fair and acceptable election under the caretaker government. But the government is trying to ignore mass demand saying it is unconstitutional. Conscious people will never allow their policy to be implemented,” he further added.
He urged the government to accept the mass demand of caretaker government without any hesitation immediately.
