Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, “Jamaat-e-Islami is working for the welfare of mass people by following the rules of the Holy Quran and Sunnah. Jamaat has been working with the vow of emancipation of humanity and putting a smile on the faces of endangered people. From the sense of this responsibility, today we have been present here with some gifts for you. If anyone benefits a little from this, we will think our labor has been successful.” He urged the government and the wealthy people of the society to come forward to make the upcoming Eid universal and happy.
He today said these as the chief guest while distributing Eid items among the local needy and poor people at an auditorium of the capital. Pallabi south thana of Jamaat Dhaka City North arranged the program. Thana Ameer principal Asraful Alam presided over the program. Jamaat Dhaka City North Ameer and member of central executive council Mohammad Selim Uddin was rhe special guest in the program. Secretary Dr. Muhammad Rezaul Karim also delivered his speech as a special guest. Lashkar Muhammad Taslim, member of central Mojlish-e-Shura and assistant secretary of Jamaat Dhaka City North, thana secretary Abul Kalam Pathan, Jamaat leader Abdul Gafur, Sarfaraz Khan, Farukh Hossain and others were also present in the program. Jamaat Ameer also distributed Eid items among the poor people of Mirpur west, Mohammadpur, Kafrul north, south and west separately. Local thana Ameers presided over the programs. Ziaul Hasan, member of Jamaat Dhaka City North and Mohammadpur Zone director, Ashraful Islam, member of Mojlish-e-Shura of Jamaat Dhaka City North, Abdullah, Anwarul Karim, Abdul Matin Khan, Trek Reza Tuhin, Jamaat leader Rezaul Karim, Abul Kashem Pathan, Nazmul Haque, Jamaat leader Anisur Rahman, Joynal Abedin, Firoz Alom, Yesni Monwar and others were also present in the program.
Both giving and receiving gift is Sunnah. This is a very high level of Sadaka. Gift honors both giver and receiver,” he added. Allah (SW) says, “Those spend their wealth in the Way of Allah, and do not follow up their gifts with reminders of their generosity or injury, their reward is with their Lord. There is no fear on them and they shall not grieve.” It is narrated in Hadith, “You give gifts, brotherhood will be increased among you.”
“ We have to restart the culture of Hadia,” he also added.
“Islam stresses the importance of poverty alleviation of the poor. The Prophet (saw) says, “The person who makes a helpless, poor man happy; it seems to make Me (Prophet) happy. And whoever pleases me; he pleases Allah (SW). And Finally Allah (SW) will send him the Janna.” Deen (Islam as a complete code of life) is the name of benevolence. Be kind to mankind and Allah will be kind to you. It is Islam which ensures the message of emancipation of both present welfare and hereafter,” he again added. He urged all to take part in the movement of the establishment of an Islamic welfare state on the basis of Islamic ideology.
“The price of daily necessaries has broken all past records and it has been out of purchasing ability of common people. Due to indifference of government and administration, the market situation has been deteriorated. The government has not taken necessary steps to reduce the miseries of flood victims of Sylhet, Sunamganj and northern part of the country,” he again added.
He urged all to remain united to get relieved from injustice and oppression of the government.
