Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City North Ameer and member of central executive council Mohammad Selim Uddin said, “Jamaat-e-Islami has been working tirelessly for the emancipation of humanity on the basis of the guidance given by Allah (SW) and the ideals followed by the Prophet (pbuh). Islam teaches us brotherhood. The assistance of helpless and poor people is considered in Islam as worship. From this liability, we have come here to share the happiness of Eid with you. This gift will play an important role to reduce poverty and will strengthen harmony and brotherhood among us.”
He urged the government and the wealthy people of the society to come forward to make the Eid of the marginalized people happy.
He today said these as the chief guest while distributing food items among the helpless and poor people on the occasion of Eid-al-Adha in an auditorium of the capital. “The believers are nothing else than brothers. All should come forward to assist the helpless and poor people cordially,” he added. Then he quoted the verse no. 10 of Surat Al- Hujurat from The Holy Quran where Allah (SW) says, “The believers are nothing else than brothers.” Allah also says at verse no. 71 of Surah At-Taubah of The Holy Quran, “The believers, men and women, are Auliya (helpers, supporters, friends, protectors) of one another. City Ameer quoted many verses of The Holy Quran where Allah (SW) gives the same message. “And in their properties there was the right of the Sail (the beggar who asks) and the Mahrum (the poor who does not ask others).” “And they give food, inspite of their love for it (or for the for Him), to the Miskin (the needy), the orphans and the captive.”
In hadith, the Prophet (pbuh) says, “Surely Allah has mercy on him who has mercy on his servants.” In another hadith Prophet (saw) says, “Feed the hungry; look after the sick; clothe the naked and set the captives free.”
“Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has been working tirelessly for the welfare of people on the basis of The Quran and Sunnah,” he further added.
He urged all to work under the banner of Jamaat to turn the state into an Islamic welfare state.
“Though the purchasing ability of common people has been reduced, the price of daily necessaries has been risen during covid-19 and devastating flood. Basically, the market situation has deteriorated due to syndicates of pro-government activists and the negligence of the duties of administration. The famine is about to occur in the country. The government has not taken necessary steps to reduce the miseries of flood victims of Sunamganj including northern area of the country. As long as the government is in power, the sufferings of the people will rise but not lessen. A pro-people democratic government would be established in order to survive from the misrule of the government,” he again added.
He urged all to remain united in the movement of establishing caretaker government to regain the voting rights of people.
