Former central president of Bangladesh Islami Chhatrashibir, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami central executive member and Jamaat Dhaka City North Ameer Mohammad Selim Uddin said, “Sunamganj, known as haor region, has seriously been affected for devastating flood. Flood has washed away the education materials of learners along with houses and furniture. It will be very difficult for the learners to overcome this loss. Many persons and different organizations are distributing food items among the flood victims though these are less than necessary. But no one distributed education materials for the learners. Shahidi Kafela Bangladesh Islami Chhatrashibir Sunamganj branch, as a torchbearer of the whole student community, have come forward to assist the learners. Through this, an exemplary example has been set up for the students and conscientious people. We all should come forward to help the learners.”
He on Monday said these as the chief guest while providing financial assistance among the flood victim learners. Bangladesh Islami Chhatrashibir Sunamganj branch took the initiative. District president Aminur Rahman presided over the program. Secretary Tahmid Ahammed conducted it. District Finance Secretary Ismail Hossain, HRD and Education Secretary Moniruzzaman Piyas, Madrasa and Publications Secretary Shamim Ahmed and other local leaders were also present in the program.
Cash was distributed among more than 50 general learners affected by flood.
“Those who come forward at the time of danger are the real friends. Bangladesh Islami Chhatrashibir have been doing their best since the beginning of the flood. They are trying to assist the flood victims. The student community of the country will select Bangladesh Islami Chhatrashibir in the future to build up the state In-Sha-Allah,” he added.
