Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami central executive member and Dhaka City North Ameer Mohammad Selim Uddin said, “Most of the people of Sylhet and Sunamganj have been affected in recent flood. It will be very difficult for the flood victims to overcome this loss. Jamaat assists not only the flood victims of Sylhet and Sunamganj but also the flood victims of all over the country. Jamaat works for the sake of humanity only to gain the satisfaction of Allah. Jamaat works to establish a justice based society. The first priority of a justice based society is when one brother falls in danger, the other comes forward to help. Our brothers from different parts of the country have come forward to assist the flood victims. They want only to gain the satisfaction of Allah. Jamaat is determined to work for the sake of humanity by ignoring all types of oppression. All should come forward to assist the flood victims according to their abilities.”
He on Monday morning said these while distributing food items among the flood victims of Bhaisber Dewan Nagar of Sunamganj Sadar Upazilla and 30 no. south word of Sylhet city from the side of Jamaat Dhaka City North. 30 no. Word of Jamaat Sylhet City distributed food packs among the flood victims. Jamaat Sylhey City secretary Muhammad Shajahan Ali, South Surma Thana Ameer Maulana Muzibur Rahman, secretary Faizul Islam Jaigirdar, assistant secretary Kazi Jafar Ahammed, word president advocate Mohsin Ahammed, secretary Abdur Rahim, former student leader Mamun Hossain and others were also present during the distribution of food items in south Surma.
Former upazilla vice-chairman Badrul Kadir Shihab, Bangladesh Islami Chhatrashibir Sunamganj district president Aminul Islam, Sunamganj Municipal Jamaat Organizing Secretary Abdus Sattar, Khairul Islam, president of BICS of Sunamganj govt. college branch, student leader Parvez and Mutahar Ali and others were present in Sunamganj. As a continuous part of assistance, Jamaat Sylhet City also distributed cooked food, dry food and different food items among the flood victims. City Jamaat will continue their humane activities until the flod situation will be normal.
