Bangladesh Jamaat-e- Islami Dhaka City North Ameer and member of central executive council Mohammad Selim Uddin said, “The flood situation has taken a terrible turn all over the country including Sylhet and Sunamganj. As a result, thousands of people have become homeless. Lives and properties have seriously been damaged. Jamaat assists the flood victims according to its ability. The goal of Jamaat politics is the welfare of mankind.” He urged the government, different political parties, donor agencies and the wealthy people of the society to come forward to alleviate the miseries of flood victims.
He today said these while distributing gift items for flood victims in different unions of Beanibazar upzilla of Sylhet district. He distributed gift items for the waterlogged people of Mathiura, Kurar Bazar and different words of municipality of Beanibazar upzilla. Bangladesh Jamaat-e- Islami Sylhet district north secretary Nazrul Islam, Hafiz Nazmul Islam, assistant secretary and former chairman of Gopalganj upazilla, Muhibullah Hossnagir, president of Bangladesh Islami Chhatrashibir Sylhet District West, Maulana Mustafa Uddin, Beanibazar Pouro Jamaat Ameer, Hafis Atiqul Islam, Shramik Kallan secretary of Sylhet District south, Maulana Muffassir Ahammed Foyezi, Ameer of Beanibazar upazilla, Maulana Abul Kashem Chowdhury, secretary of Beanibazar upazilla, Ekhlas Uddin, assistant secretary of Beanibazar upazilla, Abdul Hamid, president of upazilla Shramik Kallyan, Jahangir Alam, Jamaat upazilla Prochar Sompadak, Adilur Rahman, president of BICS of Beanibazar upazila south, Ruhul Ameen, president of BICS of Beanibazar upazila north, Ahabab Hossain Murad, college branch president of BICS, Tanvir Hossain, secretary of BICS of Beanibazar upazila north and College branch, Saleh Uddin Lodi, Ameer of Jamaat Mathubazar union, Delware Hossain, Ameer of Jamaat Tilpara union, Dr. Saidur Rahman, Ameer of Jamaat Kurar Bazar union, Khairul Ameen, secretary of Jamaat Kurar Bazar union and others were also present in the meeting.
“The government is doing such activities as have no relation with public interests. Though they have spent a lot of money in the name of bridge inauguration, they are completely different to the flood victims. By avoiding this expensive inauguration, they should assist the flood victims but they have ridiculed with flood affected people. As they are not elected, they have no accountability to people. So, there is no option but establishing a humane government,” he added.
He called on all unitedly to take part in the movement to establish a public representative government.
