Sylhet, Sunamganj, Kurigram, Lalmonirhat, Netrokona, Sherpur, and Nilphamari including many other parts of the country are inundated by floods.
Flood has visited again after two months apart. The main roads and river channels have become the same in this flood. The houses, roads and streets of whole Sunamganj district and the major part of Sylhet district have already inundated. Even the runway of Osmani International Airport, Sylhet has been flooded. Many people are still floating on water and they cannot go to a safe place as there is not enough boat supply. On the other hand, Kurigram, Lalmonirhat, Netrokona, Sherpur and Nilphamari are inundating.
The connection of electricity has been suspended of these districts. The gas supply has also been cut off to the submerged areas. In this vulnerable situation, immediate measure is not being taken from the side of the government. But Bangladesh army have been working since yesterday. The authorities concerned have to take comprehensive steps to rescue the waterlogged people and carry out massive relief activities by declaring a state of emergency immediately.
According to their abilities, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami have been working since beginning to the flood affected areas. It is a request to all, specially the wealthy and kind-hearted people, they will help the flood affected people with their abilities. The city Ameer urges all manpower, well-wishers to come forward to help the helpless people in this humanitarian crisis.He prays to Allah (SW) so that may He rescue the flood affected people immediately.
Above all, he would like to express his sympathy to the people of Sylhet, Sunamganj, Kurigram, Lalmonirhat, Netrokona, Sherpur and Nilphamari as well as some of the newly flooded districts.
