Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City North secretary Dr. Muhammad Rezaul Karim and member of central working committee said, “An extremist group of India has specially targeted Islam, Islamic values and Islamic monuments in the country now. In this continuity, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokespersons Nupur Sharma and Naveen Kumar Jindal have committed unforgivable crimes by making derogatory and offensive remarks on Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and Ummul Mo’mineen Ayesha (RA).” He urged the government of India to apologize to the Muslim Ummah and immediately bring those who have made derogatory and offensive remarks on Prophet (pbuh) to justice.
He today said these while speaking at a rally in the capital after a protest demonstration. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City North arranged this protest demonstration as a part of the central program. The protest demonstration was arranged to protest the derogatory and offensive remarks on Prophet (pbuh) made by two BJP leaders. The protest demonstration was started from Mohakhali Railway Gate and ended in Tangail Bus Stand with a short rally. It moved around different important roads of the city. Lashkar Mohammad Taslim, assistant secretary of Jamaat Dhaka City North and member of central Mojlish-e-Shura, Mahfuzur Rahman, Nazim Uddin Mollah, Dr. Fakhruddin Manik, Zeaul Hasan, member of working committee of Jamaat Dhaka City North, Maulana Mhibulla, Yassin Arafat, Jamal Uddin, Jahangir Alam, president of BICS Dhaka city north, Sabbir- bin- Harun, president of BICS Dhaka city west, Parvez Hossain, president of BICS private university zone and others were present in the protest demonstration.
The extremists are now making a new conspiracy after the state-patronizing win of Babri Mosque controversy. The fanatics are trying to seize the Taj Mahal of Agra and Qutab Miner of Delhi. By breaking the past records, the Muslim countries in the world are now lodging a set of protests against the recent blasphemous remarks on Prophet (pbuh) of two BJP leaders. The foreign ministries of Qatar, Kuwait and Iran have summoned the envoys of India and handed them a note saying on its ‘total rejection and condemnation’. The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the highest body of the Muslims, strongly condemned the remarks. Saudi Arabia and Pakistan also strongly denounced the remarks. But it is a matter of sorrow that the foreign ministry of Bangladesh did not condemn the incident though Bangladesh is the second largest Muslim country in the world. Bangladesh has shown an extreme level of unrespect to Prophet (pbuh) and His family not to condemn the incident,” he added.
He called on the government of Bangladesh to accept the condemnation motion in the National Parliament.
He also demanded the immediate release of Allama Delwar Hossain Saydee and other alem ulemas.
“The fanatics and extremists of India have turned anti-Islam and anti-Muslims sentiments into political tools. The uprising of extremists in India has made the whole Indian subcontinent turbulent. The recent incidents prove that the extremists want to pass the upcoming election by using anti- Muslims sentiments and Islamophobia. But this situation is totally different. In this issue, the whole Muslim world is now united. So, their plan of anti-Islam sentiments will not be successful,” he again added.
He urged the OIC, Arab League and the Muslim world to remain united to deal Islamophobia in India.
