Bangladesh Jamaat-e- Islami Dhaka City North Ameer and also the member of central executive council Mohammad Selim Uddin demands the unconditional release of all Jamaat leaders and activists including Allama Delwar Hossain Sayedee before Eid-ul-Fitr.
He also urges the government to avoid the politics of revenge and differences.
He greets the joy of Eid-ul-Fitr to the city dwellers.
He calls upon the city dwellers to celebrate the holy Eid-ul-Fitr to take an oath to build up a society free from exploitation and based on welfare, human values and justice.
He issues a message of greetings to the city dwellers on the eve of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr.
“After a month long fasting, we celebrate the joy of Eid-ul-Fitr. It is the real lesson of Eid that we have to serve the needy and endangered people,” he adds.
Then he quotes the verse from The Holy Quran where Allah says, “It is not Al-Birr (piety, righteousness, and each and every act of obedience to Allah, etc.) that you turn your faces towards east and (or) west (in prayers); but Al-Birr is (the quality of) the one who believes in Allah, the Last Day, the Angels, the Book, the Prophets and gives his wealth, in spite of love for it, to the kinsfolk, to the orphans, and to Al-Masakin (the poor), and to the wayfarer, and to those who ask, and to set slaves free, performs As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and gives the Zakat, and who fulfill their covenant when they make it, and who are As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.) in extreme poverty and ailment (disease) and at the time of fighting (during the battles). Such are the people of the truth and they are AlMuttaqoon.” Al Quran [02: 177]
According to the Hadith, the Prophet (PBUH) was asked, “Who are the good doers?” In reply, He said, “Those who listened to the needs of the people, and immediately engaged themselves in overcoming their needs, this is the deed that is most dear to Allah. According to another Hadith, solving a human problem is better than doing Itikaf in a mosque for 30 days.”
“The nation is celebrating the joy of Eid-ul-Fitr when they are crossing a critical period. For various reasons, the purchasing ability of the common people has now come down to the marginal level. Islam has taught us to be kind to mankind and to relatives. According to our ability, in order to deal with the current situation, we have to help the helpless, the orphans, the destitute, the disabled, the handicapped, the needy relatives, the divorcees and the widows,” Selim Uddin further adds.
Then he again quotes the verses from The Holy Quran where Allah (SW) says,
“And shown him the two ways (good and evil)?
But he has made no effort to pass on the path that is steep.
And what will make you know the path that is steep?
(It is) Freeing a neck (slave, etc.)
Or giving food in a day of hunger (famine),
To an orphan near of kin.” Al Quran [90: 10-15]
Dhaka City North Ameer also quotes a Hadith where The Prophet (SAW) said, “The person who is dear to Allah is the one who works for the welfare of people.”
“We have to determine the course of action for the future with the vow of welfare of humanity,” he again adds.
North City Ameer says, “The echo of femine is being heard due to the successive failure of the government.”
He urges all to come forward for the welfare of the helpless and afflicted people by extending aid with their own accumulated money including Zakat, Sadaqah and Fitra.
Mentioning the political persecution by the government, he says, “The government without votes has killed the top leaders of Jamaat one after one through farce to prolong their power. Maulana Delwar Hossain Sayedee, Assistant Secretary General ATM Azharul Islam, Secretary General Professor Mia Golam Parwar, Assistant Secretary General Maulana Rafiqul Islam, Maulana Abdul Khalek and others are still imprisoned by the government. But history is witness that no ideology in the past has been eradicated by persecution.”
He again demands the unconditional release of all Jamaat leaders and activists including Maulana Delwar Hossain Sayedee.
He also calls upon the government to avoid the politics of revenge and differences.
