Afia Akter, member (Rokon) of Hatirjheel thana west women unit of Jamaat Dhaka City North, passed away at Dhaka Medical College Hospital while undergoing treatment at 11:00am today- Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Raziun. She had been suffering from various physical complications for a long time. She was 65. She left behind her husband, 2 sons and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn.
Her first namaj-e-janaja was held after Jum’ a prayer at Hatirjheel Jheelpar Mosque. Later, the deceased will be taken to Thankerbari village of Damuda upazila of Shariatpur district. After Isha prayer, she will be cremated their family graveyard.
Hundreds of people including Jamaat Dhaka City North unit’s media & publicity secretary Muhammad Ataur Rahman Sarker, Hatirjheel thana west unit’s Ameer Yousuf Ali Mollah, secretary Rashedul Islam Rashed, Boro Moghbazar ward president Abdul Basir joined the janaja.
Condolence message
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islam central executive council member and Dhaka City North unit’s Ameer Mohammad Selim Uddin and secretary Dr Muhammmad Rezaul Karim expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Afia Akter.
In a joint condolence message, the city Ameer and the city secretary said, Afia Akter was a frontline activist of Islamic movement. She was a dedicated soul to establish Islam.
They prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members.
