Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami central executive council member and Dhaka City North unit’s Ameer Mohammad Selim Uddin said to conventional political parties of the country, “If you want to govern the state, you have to follow the ideals of the Quran and Sunnah as most of the people of the country are Muslim.”
He urged the authorities to immediately announce the August revolutionists as national valiant to build Bangladesh a happy, prosperous and welfare state. He called upon the countrymen to recall the revolutionists with respect forever.
Selim Uddin today morning made the remarks as the chief guest while addressing a workers’ rally at Tejgaon Khelaghor Mathe in the capital’s Tejgaon. City working committee member and thana Ameer Noman Ahamade presided over the rally while thana nayeb-e-Ameer S M Monir Ahammad and thana secretary Farid Ahmmad jointly conducted it.
Jamaat central working committee member and Dhaka City North unit’s nayeb-e-Ameer Abdur Rahman Musa, secretary Dr Muhammad Rezaul Karim working committee member Hemayet Hossain Hossain, Jamaat Dhaka City North unit’s media & publicity secretary Muhammad Ataur Rahman Sarker spoke as the special guests.
Dr Sayed Taufiqul Islam, Abdul Haque, Ali Akbar, Hossain, Labor Leader Shafiqul Islam, Tejgaon College Shibir president Izaz Ahammad Tejgaon thana Shibir president Khairul Islam among others were also spoke.
We have freed the country from fascism for a long time simultaneous student-people movement but we have to remain united, he added.
City Ameer demanded to the government to publish the complete list of martyrs of July-August mass upsurge by 31 December this year.
August revolutionists are the national valiant and supreme sons of the nation. They made sacrifices for the country and the nation. Many of them have been seriously injured. Special hospital should be established for their better treatment, Selim Uddin demanded.
Awami BaKSAL regime made the country a reign of terror though enforced disappearance. The history of July-August mass uprising should be enlisted in textbooks. Mass media should be played a vital role in this regard, he added.
Jamaat will continue its efforts to build a discrimination-free Bangladesh, Abdur Rahman Musa added as a special guest.
City Secretary Dr Muhammad Rezaul Karim urged everyone irrespective of parties and opinions to remain united to protect the independence and sovereignty of the county.
