Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami central executive council member and Dhaka north city unit’s Ameer Mohammad Selim Uddin said, “If a welfare state is established, citizens of the country will be able to enjoy their rights.”
“If people elected Jamaat to govern the country, new employment will be created for disabled people,” added Selim Uddin.
City Ameer yesterday made the remarks as the chief guest while distributing white canes among vision-impaired people in the capital’s Bhasantek.
Jamaat has been working for the sake of physically challenged people. Giving the example of former Social Welfare Minister Ali Ahasan Muhammad Muzahi, Selim Uddin said, he (Ali Ahasan Muhammad Muzahid) took many steps for the sake of blind people but the fascists had been looting the ministry.
Jamaat central Mojlish-e-Shura member and Dhaka north city unit’s assistant secretary Dr Fakharuddin Manik as the special guest said, “Jamaat has been working for the welfare of people since its establishment. We will stand by physically challenged people. They are our brothers and sisters.”
Bhasantek thana Ameer Dr Muhammad Ahasan Habis presided over the function. Thana social welfare secretary Muhammad Ikbal Hossain conducted it. Hilful-Fuzul, an organization for blind people, president vision-impaired Hafez Nazmul Haque, Abul Kashem Mojumdar, Maulana Mahtab Hossain, Farukh Hossain, Sayeed Mia, Mahbub Alam Sohel, Sirajul Islam, Munir Hossain, Yeasin among others were present here.
