Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami central executive council member and Dhaka north city unit’s Ameer Mohammad Selim Uddin urged everyone irrespective religion, race and identity to work together for the sake of protecting independence and sovereignty of the country, for establishment of rules of law and good governance, and for ensuring human rights.
According to constitution, we all are Bangladeshis. We do not other citizens based on majority/minority concept. Every citizen has equal rights, he added.
Selim Uddin yesterday evening made the remarks as the chair while speaking a view-exchange meeting with Hindu community people, and leaders of Puza observance committee of Kafrul area at the Grand Prince Restaurant in the capital’s Mirpur. Jamaat Dhaka north city unit arranged the view-exchange meeting. Central Mojlish-e-Shura member Dr Fakharuddin Manik conducted it. Jamaat Dhaka north city unit’s nayeb-e-Ameer Abdur Rahman Musa, secretary Dr Muhammad Rezaul Karim, central Mojlish-e-Shura member Lashkar Muhammad Taslim, spoke the view-exchange meeting.
Jamaat Dhaka north city unit’s media & publicity secretary Muhammad Ataur Rahman Sarker, working committee member Muhammad Shahidullah, Sha Alam Tuhin, Mojlish-e-Shura member Rezaul Karim, Dr Ahasan Habib among others were present.
Babu Tapendra Narayan Hure, president of central temple committee, secretary Babu Haripad Das Dolon, Dr Biplob Bijoyee Halda, Babu Nishith Kumar Shaha, Babu Monoj Sarker, Shib Sanker Shaha, Sri Devendra Chatterjee among others also spoke.
Bangladesh is a role model of communal harmony. There are no religious differences in the country. We all are equal and will practice equal rights. Jamaat has been working for protecting human rights since its establishment, he claimed.
We all should be united for the sake of greater interests of the country and the nation. Identifying enemies of the country, we have to face, city Ameer stressed.
The spirit of July-August revolution was to establish justice, this central executive member further claimed.
Mohammad Selim Uddin finally called upon everyone to help the interim-government for holding a free, fair and credible election.
