Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami central executive council member and Dhaka north city unit’s Ameer Mohammad Selim Uddin urged the authorities to hold those responsible who committed crimes against humanity during student-people revolution to account and justice.
Condemning the practice of brutal politics of Awami League, he said, ‘They must end the practice of anti-people politics,’
He today made the remarks while sharing views with martyr families of student-people upsurge in the capital’s Mohammadpur. Mohammad thana west of Jamaat Dhaka north city arranged the view-exchange meeting.
Thana Ameer Dr Muhammad Shafiur Rahman presided over the view-exchange meeting. Central Mojlish-e-Shura member Ziaul Ahasan, Mohammadpur thana south unit’s Ameer Shakhawat Hossain were the special guests. Thana nayeb-e-Ameer Mahadi Hasan, secretary Masuduzzaman, thana working committee member Nure Alma Siddique, Ruhul Ameen, Ashraful Alma, Abul Kalam Azad, among others were present here.
The chief guest inquired of martyr family members and gave financial help among 4 families.
Addressing martyrs as supreme sons, Selim Uddin said, the martyrs of anti-discrimination student movement are heroes. Heroes never die.
He prayed for eternal peace of the martyrs and said, ‘May Allah grant their martyrdom,’
Proper honor and dignity of martyrs should be ensured. Schools, colleges, universities and madrashas should be established in the names of martyrs, added he.
Awami League by a farcical tribunal killed Jamaat top leader Maulana Motiur Rahman Nizami, Ali Ahasan Muhammad Muzahid, Muhammad Kamaruzzaman, Abdul Kader Mollah, Mir Kashem Ali. They also martyred professor Golum Azam, Maulana Delware Hossain Saydee, A K M Yousuf and Maulana Abdus Sobhan, he alleged.
Selim Uddin urged the countrymen to be united under the banner of Jamaat.
The killers, who had martyred hundreds of innocent civilians during anti-discrimination student movement, must be held accountable and justice, he demanded.
The city Ameer called upon everyone to work together under the banner of Jamaat to build a discrimination free society.
