A mafia government had been ruling the country last 16 years. The BaKSAL government destroyed democracy and democratic institutions of the country, and caused anarchy. They created a climate of fear in the country. They engaged in enforced disappearances, extra-judicial killings, judicial killings, mass arbitrary arrests and all forms of repression, alleged Rezaul Karim.
