Jamaat’s central working committee member and Dhaka north city unit’s secretary Dr Muhammad Rezaul Karim urged everyone irrespective of party affiliations and professions to come forward to stand by flood victims.
He today made the appeal as the chief guest while visiting the temporary medical camps set up for flood victims in the Luxmipur’s Chandragang thana of Farasganj union. Dozens of flood victims including Jamaat-Shibir men were present here.
“Flood this year was not natural. India opened the gates of Dhmbur Dam in Tripura. The opening of the gates has sent a torrent of upstream water flooding into Bangladesh, inundating the bordering districts. Over a million people was displaced. Thousands of people were stranded. cattle were washed away,” he added.
This Jamaat leader claimed that Jamaat had been working for the sake of humanity since its establisment.
