Mohammad Selim Uddin, member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami central executive council and Dhaka north city unit’s Ameer, urged the manpower of all levels of the organization including members (Rokons) to work unitedly for the establishment of justice – a core demand of the students-led movement – in family, society, and the sectors of the state. He further called upon them to make the August Revolution, which was led by students, meaningful.
He yesterday said these as the chief guest while speaking at the Sungi Restauranr in the capital’s Merul Badda. Jamaat’s Rampura-Badda zone arranged the members’ meeting. Jamaat’s central Mojlish-e-shura member and Dhaka north city unit’s assistant secretary Nazim Uddin Mollah presided over the meeting. Dhaka north city unit’s Mojlish-e-shura member Maulana Kutubuddin, Abdus Sabur Farhad, advocate Rezaul Karim, Maulana Abdul Latif, Masudur Rahman among others spoke in the meeting.
Criticizing the Awami regime, the Jamaat leader said, “They made the country a failed state.”
“Violating human rights, Awami fascists repressed the Jamaat men and the opposition. They imposed ‘shoot-on-sight’ order for Jamaat-Shibir men,” alleged Selim Uddin.
“Awami League government polluted this sacred soil by killing hundreds of students and innocent people,” he further alleged.
Accusing Hasina regime, city Ameer said, “They judicially killed our national leaders but could not stop Jamaat’s progress.”
Mohammad Selim Uddin termed the July-August martyrs as national heroes. He emphasized the importance of honoring martyrs. “We must properly honor the martyrs and support the families of those martyred or injured,” he stated.
