Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami central Mojlish-e-Shura member Hemayet Hossain and Dhaka Journalist Union president Shahidl Islam’s mother Shamsunnahar Begum passed away at a private hospital of Dhaka while undergoing treatment at 3:00am yesterday (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Raziun). She was suffering from various physical complications including old-age-disease for a long time. She was 92. She left behind 7 sons, a daughter and a host of relatives and well-wishers.
Her namaj-e-janaja was held at Dhanmondi Eidgah Field at 11:00am today morning. Hundreds of people of various professions including Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami nayeb-e-Ameer professor Mujibur Rahman, Secretary General professor Mia Golum Parwer, assistant secretary general Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan, Maulana Abdul Halim, advocate Muazzam Hossain Helal, advocate Ehasan Mahbub Zubayer, Jamaat Dhaka City South unit’s Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul, North unit’s Ameer Muhammad Selim Uddin, central executive council member Mubarak Hossain, Jamaat Dhaka City South unit’s nayeb-e-Ameer bdus Sabur Fakir, secretary Shafiqul Islam Masud, North unit’s secretary Dr Muhammad Rezaul Karim, Diganta tv’s former executive director Mujibur Rahman Monju, Bangladesh Federal Journalist union’s president Ruhul Amin Gazi, secretary Kader Goni Chowdhury, Dhaka Journalist Union’s president Shahidl Islam, secretary Khurshid Alam, Jamaat Gazipur city unit’s secretary A S M Farukh, former Shibir central president Jahidur Rahman joined the janaja.
Jamaat nayeb-e-Ameer professor Mujibur Rahman led the janaja.
Then, the body was taken to her Pachkhola village of Madaripur district. She was cremated here after second janaja.
Hundreds of people including Jamaat Madaripur district unit Ameer Maulana Abdus Subhan Khan, secretary Mukhlesur Rahman, Jamaat Dhaka City South unit’s assistant secretary Kamal Hossain, Jamaat Dhaka City North unit’s media & publicity secretary Muhammad Ataur Rahman Sarker, South’s publicity secretary Ashraful Alam Imon, Pachkhla union council chairman Nasir Uddin Tuku Mollah, former chairman Akhter Hossain Hawlader, BNP Madaripur district organizing secretary Jaminur Rashid Mithu, eminent social worker Sohrab Hossain Howlader, Jamaat Dhaka City North unit’s Mojlish-e-Shura member Hafees Ahasan Ullah, Alauddin, Journalist Shamsul Arefin and others joined the second janaja. The deceased’s elder son Hemayet Hossain led the second janaja.

Shamsunnahar Begum was a pious woman. He was a dedicated and sincere soul to establish Islam. We lost a sincere and dedicated soul at his death.
City leaders prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul. They also conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members.
