Former Shibir Sher-e-Bangla Nagar thana unit president Tarek Aziz’s father Businessman Hafees Abul Kalam passed away at Ibne-Sina Medical College & Hospital, Kallanpur at 7:30pm on May 13 while undergoing treatment (Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Raziun). He was suffering from various physical complications for a long time. He was 55. He left his wife, a son, 2 daughters and a host of relatives and well-wishers. His home district was Chadpur’s Aliganj.
His namaz-e-janaza was held at Aliganj village of Sharasti thana of Chadpur district at 10:00am on May 14. Then, he was buried at their family graveyard. Hundreds of people including Jamaat-Shibir men joined the Janaja (funeral prayer).

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami central executive member and Dhaka City North unit’s Ameer Mohammad Selim Uddin and secretary Dr Muhammad Rezaul Karim expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Hafees Abul Kalam.
“He was a frontline activist of Islamic movement. He was a dedicated and sincere soul to establish Islam. We lost a sincere and dedicated soul,” the city leaders added.
City leaders prayed to the court of Almighty Allah for eternal peace of the departed soul. They also conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family.
