Bangladesh Labor Welfare Federation central president and for lawmaker A N M Shamsul Islam alleged, “Depriving working people from their rights have become an unwritten rule. Workers are being deprived and oppressed.”
“We should be united for securing labor rights,” he added.
He today said these as the chief guest while speaking at a discussion meeting in the capital. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City North unit arranged the event on the occasion of Internation Labor Day also referred to as May Day. City president Muhammad Muhibullah presided over the meeting while secretary H M Atiqur Rahman conducted it. Lashkar Muhammad Taslim, vice-president of the organization was the special guest. City vice-president Mizanul Haque, joint secretary Abdul Mannan Panna, Hossain Ahammad and others spoke in the meeting.
“The movement of Chicago teaches us to be united. We should be united. Labors should be united as they are the most neglected group. They have been repressed ages for ages. They have not paid properly. They lead a miserable life,” the labor leader further alleged.
“Islam ensures the labor rights. Labors-owners are brothers in Islamic labor policy. Here all are equal,” he also added.
