Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami central executive council member and Dhaka City North unit’s Ameer Mohammad Selim Uddin and secretary Dr Muhammad Rezaul Karim urged the city residents to celebrate the holy Eid-ul-Fitr by accepting the certitude of building a democratic and welfare society free from exploitation and deprivation based on justice and humane values.
On the eve of the day, greeting the city dwellers as well as the countrymen, they today issued a joint message.
Ramadan is a month of blessing, mercy and redemption from Helfire. Ramada, a month of attaining Taqwa (fear to Allah) is bidding farewell to us. It is a month of self-purification and attaining spirituality. Ramadan secures the universal humanity and welfare for mankind. After a long month fasting, Eid-ul-Fitr is knocking at the door. The wealthy people of the society should be provided Zakat and Sadakatul Fitr for poverty alleviation from the society.
The Jamaat leaders called upon everyone to work together following the spirit of Eid-ul-Fitr.
People could not observe fasting properly as the prices of daily essentials were up. Muslims were unable to exercise freedom of religion. Dhaka University authority banned iftar mahfil events for students in the campus compound. They urged the government to take effective steps to ensure smooth Eid journey of homebound people.
The city leaders greeted the city dwellers on the occasion of holy Eid-ul-Fitr.
