Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami central executive council member and Dhaka City North unit’s Ameer Mohammad Selim Uddin urged everyone irrespective of party affiliation and thought to come forward to build a country based on justice free from autocracy, fascism, hunger and poverty inspired by the spirit of Battle of Badr. He also called upon all to use the teaching of Ramadan properly.
He today said these as the chair while speaking at a discussion meeting in an auditorium in the capital. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City North unit arranged the discussion meeting on the occasion of Battle of Badr Day. Jamaat Dhaka City North unit Mojlish-e-Shura member Mahfuzur Rahman conducted it. Jamaat Uttara thana east Ameer Sultan Ahammad, secretary Hamidul Haque, working committee member Jahingir Hossain, Abdullah Al Muzahid and others were present on the event.
“17th Ramadan is the Badr Day. On the 17th of Ramadan of the second year of Hijri, the Holy Prophet (pbuh) along with 313 Companions engaged in a bloody battle with the infidels at a place called Badr, 80 miles to the south-west corner of Madinah Sharif. In history this war is known as Badr War. The commander of this historic war was Prophet Muhammad (pbuh),” the city Ameer added.
Then, he quoted the verse number 43 of Sura Anfan from the Holy Quran where Allah says, “[Remember, O Muḥammad], when Allāh showed them to you in your dream as few; and if He had shown them to you as many, you [believers] would have lost courage and would have disputed in the matter [of whether to fight], but Allāh saved [you from that]. Indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts.”
“The Battle of Badr was a battle for the survival for the Muslims and Islam,” the Jamaat leader further added.
Allah says about the battle, “For sure Allah helped you at Badr when you were utterly weak. Beware, then, of Allah; perhaps you will be thankful
