“Ramadan is the month of self-purification and attaining taqwa (fear to Allah). The teaching of Ramadan is to kill one’s devilish character. It is the month where the Holy Quran had been revealed to Prophet (pbuh). A good deed (Nafal) equalizes to a Faraz (mandatory deed) in this month. Ramadan has come to us as a month of blessings, mercy and redemption from Hellfire but public lives have been disrupted due to unbridled price hikes of essential commodities,” he added.
He asked the party leaders and activists to come forward to reduce the miseries of public sufferings.
“Zakat is one of the most important fundamental pillars of Islam. It enhances and purifies wealth. A society based on Zakat should be established to build up a country free from hunger and poverty,” the Jamaat leader further added.
The city secretary called upon everyone to work together under the banner of Jamaat to establish an Islamic welfare state based on Zakat.
