Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami central Mojlish-e-Shura member and Dhaka City North unit’s assistant secretary said, “We are boycotting the managed, staged and farcical election. We will not cast votes and refrain voters from assisting government in casting votes.”
He urged the government to stop staging drama in the name of election. He demanded the resignation of government and formation of a caretaker government.
He today said these while speaking at a post-procession rally at Mirpur area in the capital. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City North unit brought a protest procession urging the countrymen to refrain voters from assisting government in casting votes.
Jamaat Dhaka City North unit’s working committee member S A Tutul, Mojlish-e-Shura member Abdul Motin Khan, advocate Abdul Hamid, Jamaat leader Nakib Ferdous, Atique Hasan and many others were present on the procession.
“Government has destroyed democracy and democratic institutions in the country. They have politicized the judiciary, military, civil administration, bureaucracy,” he accused the incumbent government.
‘People will not accept the farcical election under this fascist illegal government,’ he added.
