Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami central working committee member and Dhaka City North unit’s acting Ameer Abdur Rahman Musa said, “Jamaat has been working for all irrespective of religion, caste, race, class and community since its establishment.”
He today said these as the chief guest while distributing hand cash and winter clothes among the people of Hindu community at an auditorium in the capital. Airport thana of Jamaat Dhaka City North unit arranged the occasion.
Thana Ameer M A Haque Mollah presided over the occasion. Jamaat central Mojlish-e-Shura member and Dhaka City North unit’s assistant secretary Jamal Uddin was the special guest. Thana secretary Abu Mahdi, working committee member K M Sabbir Saudagor and others were also present on the occasion.
“Jamaat is a pro-people and welfare political organization. They do not discriminate in the name of religion. Jamaat has been working for the sake of humanity since its establishment,” the Jamaat leader demanded.
He urged everyone to come forward under the banner of Jamaat to turn the country into an Islamic welfare state based on justice.
“The government is conducting crackdown across the country on Jamaat men as they have failed to face Jamaat politically and ideologically. They have unjustly detained party Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, city Ameer Mohammad Selim Udddin and leaders and activists,” he accused.
‘But the ongoing movement cannot be stopped by repression,’ warned he.
“Food, cloth, residence, education and treatment are the basic human rights. The government will ensure them for every citizen. But most of the people of the country are being deprived of these fundamental human rights,” Abdur Rahman Musa further added.
He urged all to boycott the farcical, staged and managed election on January 7.
City Ameeer also distributed winter clothes among cold people at Mirpur and Bhatara of capital.
