Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami central Mojlish-e-Shura member and Dhaka City North unit’s assistant secretary Mahfuzur Rahman said, “People will not leave the street until the farcical election is cancelled.”
“People have come down to streets to resist the one-sided farcical election,” added he.
He today said these while speaking at a post-procession rally at Kallyanpur area in the capital. Mirpur zone activists of Jamaat Dhaka City North arranged the procession as part of the central program demanding the restoration of lost democracy, cancellation of one-sided farcical election. Jamaat Dhaka City North unit’s Mojlish-e-Shura member advocate Abdul Hamid, Jamaat leader advocate Abdur Rakib, Imran, student leader Hisham and others were present here.
“The government is making plots to cling its power. They have cancelled the caretaker government system. They have unjustly arrested a number of Jamaat leaders including Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman for only political purpose,” the Jamaat leader alleged.
Mahfuzur Rahman demanded the cancellation of Awami League’s subservient election schedule, the formation of election-time caretaker government, the resignation of government and unconditional release of all party leaders including Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman.
