Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami assistant secretary general Maulana Abdul Halim said, “Government’s conspiracy will not be succeeded with the ongoing mass movement. Facing all sorts of repressions and oppressions, our victory will be ensured In-Sha-Allah.”
He today morning said these as the chief guest while speaking at a virtual ‘member and unit president meeting’ in the capital. Hatirjheel Zone of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City North arranged the meeting, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami central Mojlish-e-Shura member and zone director Hemayet Hossain presided over the meeting. Jamaat Dhaka City North Media & Publicity secretary Muhammad Ataur Rahman Sarker conducted the meeting. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami central working committee member and acting Ameer of Jamaat Dhaka City North Abdur Rahman Musa and secretary Dr. Muhammad Rezaul Karim were the special guests. Jamaat Dhaka City North Mojlish-e-Shura member Maulana Aminul Islam and Zillur Rahman were also present on the meeting.
“The movement of Jamaat-e-Islami is the continuation of the movement of the Prophet (PBUH). That path was never easy. The path is a bed of roses. Maulana Moududi, the founder of Jamaat, was sentenced to death to spread the Dawah of Islam but he was released as the world communities pressed the then Pakistan authorities. Jamaat Ameer Maulana Motiur Rahman Nizami, secretary general Ali Ahasan Mohammad Muzahid and other top leaders were martyred as they wanted to establish Islam in the state. Hundreds of leaders and activists have been arrested from October 29 to November 24. The activists of Islamic movement cannot be frustrated,” he added.
He urged all to remain united on the streets.
He urged the countrymen to strengthen the ongoing movement. He demanded the immediate and unconditional release of all party leaders including Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman and city Ameer Mohammad Selim Uddin.
“Jamaat has played an important role for the sake of humanity. Jamaat won 10 constituencies in 1986 but we resigned in 1988 for the sake of the democratic movement of the country. Jamaat won 18 constituencies in 1991 17 in 2001,” added Abdur Rahman Musa.
Dr. Rezaul Karim demanded the immediate resignation of Sheikh Hasina. He also demanded the establishment of caretaker government.
‘People will not leave the street until the caretaker government is established,’ added Hemayet Hossain as the chair.
