Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami central Mojlish-e-Shura member and assistant secretary of Jamaat Dhaka City North Dr. Fakharuddin Manik said, “Government has snatched away people’s voting right by illegal election schedule announcement.”
He today said these while speaking at a post-procession rally in Mirpur of the capital. Mirpur zone of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City North organized the procession supporting the ongoing blockade program. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is observing the countrywide 2-day long blockade program to press home the demands for the formation of election-time caretaker government, the resignation of incumbent fascist government, release of party leaders. Activists, Islamic scholars including Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, control of price hike of essentials.
Jamaat Dhaka City North working committee member Tutul, team zone member Alauddin, labor leader Mizanur Rahman, Jamaat Dhaka City North Mojlish-e-Shura member Abdul Matin Khan, Abu Tayeeb, Ahasan Habib, Atique Hasan, Mushab Muhaimin, Ashique, Ali Ahasan, Ashiqur Rahman, Golum Rabbani, Nurul Amin and others were also present on the procession.
“The government in a planned way has destroyed democracy and democratic institutions of the country. Many international organizations, stakeholders and donor agencies urged the government for holding a free, fair, credible and inclusive election but the government of midnight election is going to hold a farcical election again,” Fakharuddin Manik added.
He urged the government to immediately hand over power to a caretaker government.

Jamaat Uttara thana activists observed the ongoing blockade program. They brought out a procession supporting the blockade program. Jamaat Dhaka City North Mojlish-e-Shura member S K Ratan led the procession.
Jamaat Mirpur thana activists brought out a procession supporting the ongoing blockade program. Sha Ali thana Ameer Nakib Ferdous led the procession.
