Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami central working committee member and Dhaka City North secretary Dr. Muhammad Rezaul Karim said, “People have rejected the polls schedule with hate. They will not leave the streets until the caretaker government system is established.”
He today said these as the chief while speaking at a post-procession rally in the capital. The Election Commission today announced the 12th general election schedule. Jamaat rejects the election schedule. Jamaat demands the resignation of incumbent fascist government, formation of election-time caretaker government. The protest march was started from Azampur area of the capital. The protesters ended the march with a short rally. Jamaat Dhaka City North working committee member Maulana Muhibullah, Jamal Uddin Jamaat Dhaka City North Mojlish-e-Shura member Majharul Islam, student leader Salauddin and others were also present on the protest march.
‘Awami League does not believe democracy and democratic values. They established BaKSAL in the past. They banned all political parties in the country,’ added Dr. Rezaul Karim.
‘Simultaneous movement should be built up against the Election Commission, he further added.
“Law enforcement agencies are engaged in torture, detention and intimidation. The circumstances will be dire if the one-point demand is not accepted,” Jamaat leader added.
