Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami central working committee member and acting Ameer of Jamaat Dhaka City North Abdur Rahman Musa and secretary Dr. Muhammad Rezaul Karim called upon everyone irrespective of party and thoughts to work together for the establishment of democracy and democratic values in the country.
“The spirit of National Revolution and Solidarity Day is against injustice, autocracy and fascism,” added Jamaat leaders.
The city leaders also urged the countrymen to come down on streets to make the ongoing movement successful.
The city leaders today issued a statement and said these on the occasion of National Revolution and Solidarity Day.
“The 7th November is a day of historical importance. It is the day of protection of independence and sovereignty. On this day of 1975, the patriotic soldiers and Islam-loving people chanted the slogan Naraye Takbir Allahu Akbar (Who is great? Allah is great) and foiled the anti-state conspiracy. Bangladesh free from poverty, hunger and misrule should be built up inspired by the spirit of National Revolution and Solidarity Day,” they added in the statement.
“The spirit of liberation war was democracy, human dignity, equality, social justice and rules of law but the authoritarian BaKSAL government destroyed the spirit of liberation war. Being united, everyone should be faced the anti-state conspiracy,” city leaders further added.
They demanded the immediate and unconditional release of all top leaders including Ameer-e-Jamaat Dr. Shafiqur Rahman.
They urged the government to hand over power to a caretaker government.
