Obituary
Veteran member of Uttara west thana of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City North Mirza Sikandar passed away yesterday night at 11:30pm at SBIL Foundation Hospital while undergoing treatment (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Raziun). He was suffering from physical complications including old age diseases. He was 82. Asma Siddika Banu, wife of deceased’s Mirza Sikanda, died at 3:00am at the same hospital while undergoing treatment (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Raziun). She was also suffering from physical complications. She was 78. They left behind 2 sons, 2 daughters and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn.
Their burial prayers were held at the premises of Baitul Aman Jame Mosque of Uttara 14 number sector after Jumma prayer. Then, they were buried at the Uttara 14 number graveyard.
Jamaat acting Ameer and former MP professor Mujibur Rahman, Jamaat Dhaka City North acting Ameer and member of central working committee Abdur Rahman Musa, Nayeeb-e-Ameer engineer Gulom Mustafa, Jamaat Dhaka City North secretary and member of central working committee Dr. Muhammad Rezaul Karim, working committee member Jamal Uddin, Ataur Rahman Sarker, Muhammad Mazharul Islam, Ameer of Uttara west thana and member of Mojlish-e-Shura of Jamaat Dhaka City North, thana Nayeeb-e-Ameer Abu Hossain, thana secretary Firoz Alam and locals were also present in the burial prayer.
Message of condolence
Bangladesh Jamat-e-Islami Dhaka City North acting Ameer and member of central working committee Abdur Rahman Musa and secretary Dr. Muhammad Rezaul Karim expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Mirza Sikandar and Asma Siddika.
“Mirza Sikandar was a pioneer of Islamic movement. He played an important role to spread the Dawahof Islam among common people. He dreamt to establish an Islamic welfare state on the basis of justice and worked tirelessly till the end of his life,” city leaders added in a condolence message.
They (city leaders) prayed to the court of Allah so that may Allah (SW) grant Mirza Sikdar and Asma Siddika as martyrs. May Allah (SW) grant Mirza Sikdar and Asma Siddika the highest Janna. They prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
