Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City North secretary and member of central working committee Dr. Muhammad Rezaul Karim said, “Government has failed to understand the words of people. Mass people will secure their mass demands. They will release their imprisoned leaders and activists including Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, build up a strong form of movement for the formation of election-time caretaker government,”
He today October 1 said these as the chief guest while speaking at a post-demonstration rally in the capital. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City North arranged the demonstration demanding the release of leaders, activists, alam-ulemas including Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, withdrawal of false, fake and fictitious cases, resignation of illegal government and formation of election-time caretaker government. The protest march was started from Badda Overpass. Protestors moved various important roads of the city. It was ended in Merul Badda with a short rally.
Mahfuzur Rahman, member of central Mojlish-e-Shura and assistant secretary of Jamaat Dhaka City North, Nazim Uddin Mollah, Dr. Fakharuddin Manik, Ziaul Hasan, member of working committee of Jamaat Dhaka City North, Maulana Muhibullah, Jamal Uddin, Ataur Rahman Sarker, Nasir Uddin, student leader Salah Uddin, Asaduzzaman and others were also present in the demonstration.
“The government are looking for the path of flee as they have detached from the globe due to misrule and corruption. This vote rigging and oppressive government has created a situation of anarchy by violating human rights. They are involved in money laundering. They have destroyed the economy of the country. The foreign reserve is decreasing everyday,” city secretary added.
“The government is torturing Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, secretary general Golum Parwar, city Ameer Mohammad Selim Uddin and other leaders and activists as part of the conspiracy. They are filling false and fictitious cases again and again. They have disappeared Abdullahhil Amam Azmi, brigadier general, (ret.),” he added.
This Jamaat leader demanded the immediate and unconditional release of all imprisoned disappeared leaders and activists.
“Police are the servants of the Republic of Bangladesh. Don’t shot at the protestors. Don’t torture them,” MR Karim added.
He demanded the formation of election-time caretaker government.
Police detained 15 demonstrators at the end of the procession.
