Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City North acting Ameer and member of central working committee Abdur Rahman Musa and secretary Dr. Muhammad Rezaul Karim expressed deep concern at the severe fire incident in Mohammadpur Krishi Market of the capital. They urged to the government to immediately provide compensation and rehabilitation to the victims. They also called upon to the government to take effective steps to investigate the actual cause of the fire incident.
Jamaat leaders urged to the government to form a judiciary committee for this.
‘There has been a massive loss at the fire incident in Mohammadpur Krishi Market of the capital. There were 500 shops in the market and traders are lamenting losing everything. It has created a humanitarian crisis. Now, it is needed to send humanitarian aids to the spot,’ issuing a statement Jamaat leaders said.
City leaders urged the government, donor organizations, political parties and wealthy people of the society to come forward to assist the fire victims of Mohammadpur Krishi Market of the capital.
“The fire incident is increasing day by day across the country, especially in Dhaka city. Unplanned urbanization is basically responsible for fire incident in the capital. There is also a shortage of modern fire service equipment in the city and the continuous fire incidents in the capital are also mysterious,” the city leaders added in the statement.
