Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Nayeb-e-Ameer and former MP Dr. Sayed Abdullah Muhammad Taher said, “Enforced disappearance is more heinous crime than killing. It is crime against humanity.”
The ruling Awami League is violating human rights by forcefully disappearing the opposition party political leaders, people of dissent opinions, lawyers and businessmen, he added.
He today afternoon (on Wednesday) said these on the occasion of International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances when he met Barrister Arman’s family. Barrister Arman has forcefully been disappeared and his family is the victim of enforced disappearance.
Dr. Taher, then, prayed to Allah for the victims of the enforced disappearance.
The law enforcers picked Barrister Arman up, son of Shahid Mir Kashem Ali, on August 10, 2016 from his residence but still he was not returned. It is a brutal incident. The entire nation was frustrated for this incident. Arman was giving legal support to his father. His father was convicted in false and fabricated cases. Authorities who have committed crimes against humanity by disappearing innocent civilians and violated human rights, would be brought to justice, dr. Taher also added.
He expressed concerns about the safeties and securities of Barrister Arman’s family. The law enforcers increased their surveillance at the residence of Barrister Arman. After disappearing Barrister Arman, they (government) judicially killed Arman’s father, Jamaat Nayeb-e-Ameer further added.
He urged the authorities to take back all the disappeared to their families.
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City North secretary and member of central working committee Dr. Muhammad Rezaul Karim, Jamaat Dhaka City North publicity secretary Muhammad Ataur Rahman Sarker, Jamaat Dhaka City North Mojlish-e-Shura member advocate Rezaul Karim, former student leader Ahamed Salman and others were also present here.
Awami League government has created a havoc in the country. The government should trace the disappeared Brigadier General Abdullahil Aman Azmi, Barrister Arman Ahmad bin Qasem, Hafez Zakir Hossain, Al Moqaddas, Mohammad Oliullah and Ilyas Ali, Chowdhury Alam, and about 200 other disappeared persons by the law enforcement agencies, Jamaat leader added.
He called for minimal respect for human rights by returning the missing persons safely to their families.
