A delegation of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City North and South submitted plea to DMP commissioner for seeking cooperation for holding a peaceful rally at Suhrawardy Udyan ground of the capital on August 4. Abdur Razzak, lawyer of Bangladesh Supreme Court led the delegation. Advocate Rezaul Karim Khandakar, former co-editor of Supreme Court Bar, advocate Azmot Hossain, former member of executive council of Dhaka Lawyers’ forum, Advocate Abdul Karim, lawyer of Bangladesh Supreme Court, advocate Nurunnabi Uzzal, advocate Muzahidul Islam, advocate Ismail Hossain were the members of the delegation.
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami will hold a rally on August 4. They will hold the rally to press home the demands for holding a free, fair, inclusive and participatory election, the formation of election-time caretaker government, the release of its leaders-activists, national leaders, Islamic speakers, scholars including Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, control of price hike of essentials.
Later, Advocate Abdur Razzak briefed the media. Sayed Mamun Mustafa, deputy commissioner of police, received the plea.
Jamaat is a democratic political party. They are running their political activities systematically. Holding rally is a political right. They seek cooperation of DMP for holding the rally peaceful.
Jamaat wanted to hold a rally at the north gate premises of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque on August 1 but DMP refused their plea.
