Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami acting Ameer and former MP professor Mujibur Rahman said, “If we follow the right path, we may have been tortured and oppressed. Hazrat Musa (AS), Ibrahim (AS) and prophet Muhammad (pbuh) were tortured. We have to be patient. “
He today said these as the chief guest while speaking at a virtual discussion meeting titled ‘Learning from Ashura’ in the capital. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City North arranged the meeting. Abdur Rahman Musa, member of central working committee and acting Ameer of Jamaat Dhaka City North, presided over the meeting. Secretary dr. Muhammad Rezaul Karim conducted it. Engineer Golum Mustafa, Nayeeb-e-Ameer of Jamaat Dhaka City North, assistant secretary Mahfuzur Rahman, Nazim Uddin Mollah, Dr. Fakharuddin Manik and others were also present.
“Ruling government is oppressor. This government should be ousted. They have committed crimes against humanity. They have violated human rights. They have killed and disappeared many civilians. They have abolished the caretaker government system,” he added.
City secretary Dr. Muhammad Rezaul Karim said, “The learning of Ashura is the protection of human rights and the emancipation of human beings.”
He called upon the government to release the top Jamaat leaders including Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman.
