Motiur Rahman, member (Rokon) of Turah south thana of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City North, died in a severe road accident at The Mayor Mohammed Hanif Flyover of the capital at 3:00 pm on July 14 (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Raziun). His wife Zakia Sultana was also seriously injured. He was 38. The deceased was the former member of Bangladesh Islami Chhatrashibir. He left behind his wife, mother and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn. The deceased’s Namaj-e-Janaja (burial prayer) was held at the Dakshin Jawarani village of Hatibandha upazila of Lalmonirhat district on July 15 at 3 pm. He was buried at their family graveyard.

Bangladesh Jamat-e-Islami Dhaka City North acting Ameer and member of central working committee Abdur Rahman Musa and secretary dr. Muhammad Rezaul Karim expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Motiur Rahman. Motiur Rahman died in the road accident.
“Late Motiur Rahman was a pioneer of Islamic student movement. He played an important role to spread the Dawah of Islam among common students. He dreamt to establish an Islamic welfare state on the basis of justice and worked tirelessly till the end of his life for that purpose,” city leaders added in a condolence message.
They (city leaders) prayed to the court of Allah so that may Allah grant the deceased as a martyr. May Allah (SW) grant Motiur Rahman the highest Janna. They prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
