Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City North assistant secretary and member of central Mojlish-e-Shura Muhammad Mahfuzur Rahman said, “Unfairly arresting the national leaders, the government of Bangladesh is behaving out of political etiquette which is against democratic values, human rights and constitution.”
He today Tuesday said these while speaking at a pro-demonstration rally in Mirpur of the capital. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City North arranged the protest demonstration protesting the arrest, concoct cases, harassment, behaviour out of political etiquette against Mohammad Selim Uddin and demanding immediate and unconditional release of all national leaders.
The demonstration was started from Mirpur – 10 Golchattar. It moved various important roads of the city. It was ended at Kazipara Metrorail Station with a short rally. Jamaat Dhaka City North assistant secretary Nazim Uddin Mollah, Dr. Fakharuddin Manik, Zamal Uddin, member of working committee of Jamaat Dhaka City North, Ziaul Hasan, Muhibullah, Muhammad Ataur Rahman Sarker and others were present.
“Jamaat Dhaka City North Ameer Mohammad Selim Uddin was arrested from an Iftar Mahfi like a peaceful religious program. 7 days-police remand was granted against him. Later, 4 days-police remand was granted. While he was appeared in the court, he was badly treated which is the symptom of BaKSAl,” he added.
Jamaat leader demanded that the leaders had arrested abusing laws. He demanded the immediate and unconditional release of all national leaders including Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Maulana Shamsul Islam, Professor Mia Golum Parwer, Rafiqul Islam Khan and Selim Uddin.
