Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City North acting Ameer and member of central working committee Abdur Rahman Musa and secretary Dr. Muhammad Rezaul Karim strongly condemned and protested the terror attack and massacre of Awami League at Dr. Sayed Abdullah Muhammad Taher’s village house. Dr. Taher is the former MP and senior Nayeeb-e-Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami. These two Jamaat leaders demanded the investigation and arrest of the culprits of this barbaric attack.
“Local Awami League has chosen the path of terror and anarchy fearing the popularity of Dr. Sayed Abdullah Muhammad Taher to prevent his sure victory in the next elections. A group of 25/30 miscreants supported by the local MP attacked the village house of Dr. Sayed Abdullah Muhammad Taher. Abdur Rahman, inhabitant of Kulasha vullage, led the attack. Besides, the terrors attacked the houses of Dr. Taher’s cousin Fayez Ahammed, neighboring day labor Sha Alam, common villagers including Taher Miazi’s microbus. They vandalized many houses at that time. They attacked houses in a planned way and without any provocation. This attack reminds us the words of terrors of BaKSAL period,” the two city leaders said these at a joint statement.
They urged the government to avoid the paths of terrors and fascism. Otherwise, they have to face public outrage.
“The government has become abnormal fearing the loss of power. For this, they are torturing and oppressing the patriotic leaders including Jamaat. They have destroyed the democracy and democratic values of the country to prolong their illegal rules. They want to hold an election of vote rigging again. For this, they have imprisoned the top leaders of Jamaat including Ameer-e-Jamaat Dr. Shafiqur Rahman,” they added.
Both of the Jamaat leaders demanded the immediate and unconditional release of all national leaders including Jamaat Ameer. They also demanded the immediate resignation of the government handing over power to caretaker government. Otherwise, they should be given accountabilities to mass people.
