Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City North secretary and member of central working committee Dr. Muhammad Rezaul Karim said, “The labors our country are neglected and deprived of rights even after 5 decades of independence due to the absence of Islamic labor policy in the country. Basically, Islamic ideals include the emancipation and welfare of the world humanity.”
He called forth the labors to be united on the basis of Islamic Ideals. Otherwise, their deprivation and negligence will not be ended.
He today said these as the chief guest while speaking at a discussion meeting on the occasion of International Labors’ Day in the capital. Rupnagar thana of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City North arranged the discussion meeting. Thana Ameer Abu Hanif presided over the meeting. Thana secretary Musharaf Hossain Bhuyan conducted it. Nasir Uddin, member of working committee of Jamaat Dhaka City North, was the special guest. Thana Nayeeb-e-Ameer Musharaf Hossain, Hasan Muhammad Yousuf, member of thana working committee, Latiful Khabir, Liakat Hossain and others were also present in the discussion meeting.
“Labors had no job security, no time limit still the end of the 19th century. They had insufficient payment. The company owners forced labors to work from 12 to 16 hours per day. The labors of Chicago, USA built a strong movement on May 1, 1886 protesting the oppression. The labors of all mills and factories including 11 thousand 562 of USA called a strike demanding 8 hours of work. But police opened fires to agitated workers as a result 10 workers were died and many were injured. Still labors are deprived of rights. A gap between labors and owners is increasing day by day. So, the labor organization should be followed the Islamic labor policy to ensure their rights,” he added.
He strongly demanded to government to run the Islamic labor policy in the country. Otherwise, the labors will be deprived of rights.
“The isolated government has become more violent as they have a fear to lose power. They are spreading propaganda ignoring the mass demand of caretaker government. But they will not be successful,” city secretary further added.
He demanded the resignation of the government immediately. He also demanded the immediate and unconditional release of all political leaders including Ameer-e-Jamaat Dr. Shafiqur Rahman. Otherwise, people will secure their mass demand.
