Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City North secretary, member of central working committee and central adviser of Bangladesh Labor Welfare Federation Dr. Muhammad Rezaul Karim said, “Labors’ rights and dignity should be ensured if the benefits of independence are delivered to every home.”
He today said these as the chief guest while inaugurating free treatment service ceremony among the labors of different occupations in Luxmipur on the occasion of great independence and national day. Luxmipur city branch of Bangladesh Labor Welfare Federation arranged the ceremony. Advocate Monjur Alam Miron, president of Bangladesh Labor Welfare Federation of Luxmipur city branch, presided over the ceremony. Secretary Harun Dewan conducted it. District president Momin Ullah Patwary, district adviser Maulana Nasir Uddin Mahmud and Shamsul Islam were the special guests in the ceremony. City branch adviser principal Abul Farah Nishan, former city branch president Mr. Harunur Rashid, Nasir Uddin, Shahidullah Sumon, labor leader Nowsher Ali, Nur Alam Azad, Babul Chaowdhury and others were also present in the inauguration ceremony.
“We have gained independence for the practice of equality, human dignity, social justice, rules of law and free democracy by liberation war. Though half century of our independence has already passed but still we are unable to practise these. Inequality instead of equality, injustice instead of justice, tyranny instead of rule of law and arbitrariness instead of democracy are established on the fortune of the nation,” Mr. Karim Added.
He urged all irrespective of party affiliation and thoughts to come forward to free the country and the nation from this critical situation. He remembered the martyred and live freedom fighters with deep respect and honor.
“The labors of the country played a historical moment in the war of liberation. Though they sacrificed their lives by the spirit of patriotism, they have been deprived of their rights after the 50 years of independence too. So, the rights of labors should be ensured to make the independence meaningful. Owners-labors’ relationship should be strong,” he further added.
He called forth the owners to be kind to the workers to reduce the workload of the labors to protect the sanctity of the holy month of Ramadan.
“The rules of law were not institutionalized as the democracy and democratic values have been destroyed. According to constitution, we believe in Almighty Allah but we did not get proves of it in any system of the state. Basically, Islam and Islamic values are the protection of our independence and sovereignty. The rulers of the country are diverting and pushing the nation into darkness narrating different types of theories. They are trying to deny the rights of votes of the citizens. There is no alternative but the greater unity of the nation to get back the rights of votes,” he again added.
He urged the labor organizations to be united to establish justice in the society as well as in the country on the basis of Islam.
